Macroeconomics for undergraduates
Over the last twelve years, Jayan Jose Thomas has offered more than 30 courses at IIT Delhi, which have been attended by close to 1800 students, including undergraduates and graduates in economics, other social sciences, and engineering. He has also taught courses at the National University of Singapore, Madras School of Economics, Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi), and the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode.
The mainstream economic theories and policies taught in India (and elsewhere) are drawn mostly from the development experiences of developed countries. There is a need to introduce students to newer theories and experiences drawn from the economic transitions of developing countries like India and China. I am to striving to contribute to this objective.
